THE WORLD IN BETWEEN AND AFTER THE COVID19 PANDEMIC
How the COVID19 epidemic has changed our life?
Meet and Greet Culture
Today the Covid19 pandemic has not only changed our life but also changed the way of living it too. The whole world is still suffering from this deadly virus and will suffer until we prepare a life-saving coronavirus vaccine. Now the whole world is making their own way of living their life with the danger of coronavirus and changing their culture to meet and greet.
Now when we look back just before the coronavirus outbreak where we must physically communicate with others with the handshakes and hugs on a daily basis. The handshake, a fundamental of business, political, sports, public or social meetings are under restriction. The covid19 is reshaping the social and workplace barometer, so keeping one’s distance is now the attentive thing to do. The world is now either avoiding handshakes or practicing new etiquettes like ‘elbow bump’, prayer gesture, and the known Indian ‘namaste’ also shows a nice and humble tone of the meeting.
Facemask has become the fundamental accent of the modern age
As we all see people wearing masks before to hide their identities like protestors used a mask in their protest’s rallies, criminals use is to hide their crime besides their masks. Masks are always used by the doctors and healthcare officials, used in cities that are highly polluted or used when people face accidents like Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster was a nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi … On 5 July 2012, in Japan. This worldwide pandemic of coronavirus has brought a new trend of wearing face masks as a fundamental accent for the long term for our safety purposes.
We have been living our life long enough with this pandemic and wearing a face mask is the key safety feature to protect yourself from infection so now globally people accept wearing a mask as a habit. There are different types of coronavirus masks available in market commonly used N95 which is very superior in blocking every particle passage of virus, surgical masks are also common, people making their own cotton masks at home and now as the demand of masks is rising globally companies like Prada, Gucci and Balenciaga have started to manufacture them.
Rise in consumption of internet and tech product to get more socially active
Before this pandemic of coronavirus(covid19) the consumption of the internet is rising at a definite rate but when we are introduced to this pandemic, lockdown, work at home policies internet consumption is increased between 25-30 worldwide. We are living in the age of technology where our digital platforms and devices play a key role in our daily life. The COVID 19 Pandemic brings us closer to the digital platforms either it is entertainment, online meetings, online education classes online shopping, social networking where e-commerce and local delivery platforms suffered during this pandemic which highly depends on logistics and manpower.
According to a report shared by market researchers in India Indians spent more than four hours every day on social media leading to an 87 percent increase in its usage in comparison to a week before lockdown. The positive side of this sudden increase in digital consumption of social media is that a lot of awareness campaigns were triggered on social media which helped people across the country to know about the essentials of the lockdown as well as the precautionary measures to be taken during this time.
How do people survive in or after the COVID19 Pandemic?
The year 2020 will be known for its most devastating worldwide impact because it came with a deadly coronavirus who changed the lives of humans and also the way of living it. It’s like not the first that we humans faced a pandemic, yes there was a lot before but at that time we are not much technologically advanced than we are today.
It is somehow better for us because now we are spending more quality time with our family and children. The changes observed globally during this situation and having a big disappointment for the kids because they won’t go to school, meet with their friends, play outside, social isolation has become a new lifestyle.
Employees working from home, meetings moved to virtual space, peoples who are planning for foreign trips not allowed, holly places are closed as it also changed the way of worshiping though, keep distancing, not allowed to touch anything. As it said the virus came from bats, people also keep distancing from non-veg food and meat exports get massive due to coronavirus worldwide, as in Indian buffalo meat exports cuts 50% and people are turning more toward vegetarian food.
After this deadly virus when we humans and humanity wins over this coronavirus pandemic there is a whole new world available for us where a new culture of living, new lifestyle, new schooling, and working will be there for us.
Yes, there will be some challenges in regards to jobs, business, and money but we humans have a great quality of changing and adapting and we definitely make new ways to make out with them. Survival after this pandemic will be a new adventure for children because now their school is more virtual now, more technologically advanced, their playground is limited, their parents are more likely to be their teachers now.
For people working in different industries, there will be uncertainty in employment because there are millions of people who lost their job during this pandemic.
There will be some sectors that get the hardest hits like the Airline industry, Film industry, Hotels, Automobile industry, shipping industry or transport sector, Retail industry, and sports industries are slashing their employees and cutting their salaries to stay alive.
While there is a chance of getting new job opportunities in Healthcare Industries, industries like amazon is hiring 100,000 workers, mostly for fulfillment and delivery to keep up with the massive demand as people are stuck at home and not shopping at physical stores and IT industries are still making it possible for the peoples to get new jobs while working at home.
Changes after covid19 in the world
Drastic changes in the healthcare industry
After the covid19 healthcare industry will undergo a dramatic change because researchers and some medical institutions said this pandemic is a lesson for the worldwide healthcare industries to understand how capable they are, where they stand, and where changes are required to get ready for a next pandemic.
A data-driven future planning will be there to count how many doctors and nurses are required to train and in future, we will train doctors and nurses in surplus so that if there is another health crisis we don’t fall short, how many beds we have, and how many required, which medical equipment are essentials, production and consumption of new drugs and everyone will be spending a lot on healthcare infrastructure. Also, more virtual healthcare will be there and less face to face communication seems to be there.
After this COVID outbreak, most of the world healthcare facilities will get exposed because the affordability of coronavirus treatment is still stressful for most people worldwide and in developing countries like India where the majority of the population is under the lower-income spectrum. The low penetration of insurance and loss in income during coronavirus lockdowns only makes matters worse.
Worldwide digital transformation in the education system.
A similar digital transformation is being observed in the education sector. Although the online models had already disrupted the higher education landscape, it was limited mostly to distance learning courses because of the digital divide that exists in society. It is kind of a natural experiment for the education sector to examine how we can make use of online service delivery models effectively. Any technological intervention in education would help in increasing the familiarity of teachers as well as students with online tools. This transition from brick and mortar to online modules, to any extent, would be helpful in enabling access to education to the last mile. However, while framing such policies one has to be cautious enough to not bring the digital divide to education. It can be introduced by developing affordable digital infrastructure. For instance, due to the competitive telecom industry in India, the data prices in the country have become the cheapest in the world, which has made the internet a universally accessible commodity.
Tourism will be stressful or fun after coronavirus…
Tourism worldwide brings humans together in every aspect and plays a vital role in the growth of economy and employment as well, most of the industries get hit hard by this pandemic including tourism so far but how is it going to be after the COVID19 Pandemic?
Yes, it is a matter of stress for some people who like traveling a lot either it is official, educational, vocational or adventurous because still a lot of countries are not allowing foreign travelers to visit their land but during this pandemic, it seems to be observed that this industry is very resilient and will rebound fairly quickly. It is also seen that there will be some pent-up demand and that people will be ready to travel and youth may not have that same level of anxiety, they are risk-takers and generally interested to travel. Travel is a part of our life and when we aren’t able to do it, we realize how much it plays a role in what we are looking for and in our future free time.
During and after the COVID19 Pandemic we also see a whole new face of nature around us and worldwide because when humans are at homes nature is healing itself like in India the river Ganga in its cleanest stage during this pandemic, in Punjab the air is so clean that the Himalayas are now visible for naked eyes, the Air quality of index of India’s most polluted city Delhi is observed below 200 which is remarkable and its happening across the globe which will also be an attractive gesture for travelers.
